Nobody starts a business to answer the government

We grew up in families that ran small businesses. Ian's family worked in construction. Sean's family ran a store.

Our parents did not start their businesses to become experts in government administration. But we watched them drown in notices, forms, deadlines, and paperwork they could not ignore. Every hour spent figuring out what an agency wanted was an hour taken from their customers, their employees, and the business itself.

We spent the last decade building HR compliance products together at Checkr and Middesk, including the payroll tax registration infrastructure used by Gusto, Rippling, Paychex, and Justworks. There we saw that the problem only compounds. As a company adds states, entities, and people, it hires whole teams to manage the work.

AI can do more than organize the work. It can interpret notices, prepare responses using payroll and HR records, and identify what’s missing. Onclaim handles the follow-through, bringing your team in when context or a decision is needed.

We started with unemployment claims and built deep expertise in the work. Now we’re bringing that experience to the broader government side of HR.

We started Onclaim to give that time back. American businesses should be free to focus on the work they exist to do.
